The brown pelican was nearly wiped out due to the use of the pesticide DDT, which weakened the shell of their eggs. When I was a child you would be lucky to see them at all. π€ππ’
.
But now they are back, and as you cross the causeway onto Galveston island you will see them, flying in their bomber like formations above you in the sky. This piece represents their miraculous return to the upper Texas coast. πΌπππβοΈπ‘π³π¦
