Artist's Description
I wanted to show the ornate architecture of this particular downtown Galveston building, just selecting a corner so we could admire the decorative arches of the upper floor windows. The blue sky offsetting the pale yellow of the lower floor, but the top floor is where our focus lies. Buildings of this era, late 1800's to early 1900's have a particular flair about them which modern architecture does not have. The intricate work of the gables and the surrounding edges along the top and bottom. To top it off, we see a Texas flag mounted at the corner of the building. Ornate, majestic or patriotic.... what do you think?

I feel most alive when I've recently photographed a location and use the photo as an inspiration for...
