Galveston Island is blessed with a long history of architectural wonders, which include the many churches and chapels that dot the island. This piece represents the refurbishment of the Trinity Episcopal Eaton Chapel which was a good example of the Gothic Revival style and is listed as an American historic building. The clouds were painted as slightly menacing, growing darker as the blue sky retreated behind them and I added my signature bristle brush strokes across the sky. I elected to show the detail of the upper part of the building, it's front facade and tiled roof. The stone brick walls adorn the sides of the church surrounded by tropical palms which are so numerous on the island.
